HONEYMOON + DESTINATION WEDDING MAKE UP TIPS BY- Sugandha Dixit
I don’t know about you, but my Instagram feed is filled with jealousy inducing turquoise waters and exotic foods at the moment. Everyone’s jetting off for a taste of summer sun. But with sunshine and warmer weather comes extra sunscreen, oily skin and sliding make up!

Thankfully talented makeup artist Mariam Jensen is here to share her top products and tips to keep honeymooners and destination brides looking gorgeous in the heat.

Honeymoon/Destination Wedding Makeup Tips

Skincare and makeup needs are very different in warmer, tropical climates, than here in the UK, it needs to withstand sweat, humidity, and of course protect from the suns harmful rays.

Here are some of my top picks for brides, whether they are planning the destination wedding of their dreams in the Maldives to honeymooning in Barbados, these tips will not only insure you look your best, but that your look stays put and lasts throughout the day!
Before makeup is applied to skin, I suggest brides and grooms invest in a high-spectrum sun protection for the face and body. For the face I am a huge fan of Shu Uemura UV Armour High Protection Sun Protector SPF 50, this water resistant fluid glides on the skin effortlessly and blends in without leaving any film or unpleasant residue and sits very nicely underneath makeup.

Instead of messing with heavy foundation and products that just don’t last, opt for Hourglass Cosmetics Illusion Tinted Moisturizer. When I first tried this product I fell in love with the texture, coverage, and skin care benefits. This miracle product provides a gorgeous coverage and finish to the skin due to its key ingredients INSTALIFTA  and Hyaluronic Filling Spheres, which increases the skins hydration, diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. Just when you thought the product couldn’t get any better, it’s water-resistant and also is free-from oil, fragrance, and parabens. You can apply it with fingers for an effortless application or with a foundation brush to build up more coverage where needed. I find that this product definitely gives more coverage that traditional tinted moisturizers, making this skin look more flawless and even.

For hot and humid climates I would make sure to have MAC Blot Films to hand to blot off excess oil and sweat. I would also invest in an oil control powder such as Cover FX Matte FX Oil Absorbing & Blotting Powder, which can be used to maintain and shine-free look throughout the day, especially in areas such as the T-Zone. I love this product and even recommend it for use on men to keep them from looking too shiny.
